Term 1 - 2026
TERM 1 2026
Week 1: Spiritual Renewal (Feb 3)
We kick things off by looking at the heart. Following the example of King David in Psalm 51, we’ll explore how repentance isn't about guilt, but about asking God to "put a new spirit within us."
Activity: A friendly round of Lawn Bowls.
Deep Dive: We’ll be listening to insights from John MacArthur on the believer's confession of sin.
Week 3: Scriptural Renewal (Feb 17)
How does the "God-breathed" nature of the Bible change the way we live? This week is all about the Canon of Scripture and finding fresh life in the Word.
Activity: Taco Tuesday paired with a competitive Spelling Bee (yes, there is a prize!).
Deep Dive: We’ll explore the inspiration of the Canon with R.C. Sproul.
Week 5: Soil & Story Renewal (Mar 3)
The Bible isn't just a book of ideas; it happened in real places. We are going to look at the geographical paths of the Bible to see how the "soil" of the Holy Land brings the stories to life.
Activity: A game of Bigger and Better (starting with a paperclip and trading up) followed by a virtual tour using Google Earth and Bible Geocoding.
Deep Dive: A look at "5 Bible Sites that Still Exist Today" by Brandon Robbins.
Week 7: Renewal of Mind & Purpose (Mar 17)
In a world that tries to mould us, how do we "fix our thoughts" on what is true? We will look at Romans 12 and Philippians 4 to learn how to stop conforming and start transforming.
Activity: A high-stakes game of Mafia / Werewolf.
Deep Dive: Timothy Keller’s powerful sermon, "A Reason for Living."
Week 9: Social Outlet Day (Mar 31)
To wrap up our theme, we’re heading outdoors to enjoy God's creation and each other's company.
Activity: A scenic walk around Highfields while playing a group game of One-Word Story. It’s the perfect way to reflect on the season and enjoy the community we’ve built.
